Why will I be receiving a new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card?
You will receive a new credit card because Banana Republic is changing credit card providers from Synchrony to Barclays.
When will my existing card stop working?
Your existing Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card will be valid through June 19, 2022. However, any pre-authorized payments that you have set up online on your existing Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card from Synchrony will end. You will no longer be able to access the online account for your Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card from Synchrony after June 15.
When will my new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card arrive?
Your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card will arrive by mail in mid-June 2022.
- For security reasons, it will arrive in a plain white envelope.
- When it arrives, you'll also receive instructions on how and when you can activate, begin using your new credit card and how to set up your online account with Barclays.
What if I haven't received my new card from Barclays?
If you opened your Synchrony card after March 31, your credit card will be mailed to you between June 20-24. If you opened your account prior to March 31, please call 866-951-5248.
How quickly after receiving my new credit card can I begin to use it?
On June 20, any time after 6am ET, you can activate your new card. Once it is active, begin using your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card as you normally do.
Will my account be moved to Barclays?
Most accounts will automatically be transferred to Barclays. However, there are certain accounts that will not be transferred as a result of account statuses such as (but not limited to) severe delinquency or Fraud.
Will I need to cancel my Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card from Synchrony?
No. Barclays will automatically transfer your account and any outstanding balance to your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card on June 20.
Can I continue to manage my account and schedule payments online?
Starting June 16, you will no longer have online access to your Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card from Synchrony at bananarepublic.syf.com/login. Any payments that you have set up through Synchrony will no longer be processed after June 16. Additionally, if you have arrangements with other electronic bill payment services, please notify them that payments will no longer be processed by Synchrony after June 16. Please download and save any billing statements that you would like to keep for your records prior to this date. On or after June 20, you will be able to manage your Barclays account and schedule payments for your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card online at bananarepublic.barclaysus.com. At this time, you will also be able to set up payments with your bill payment service using your new card number.
Where can I mail my credit card payment?
Mail your payment to either of the following addresses. Allow 7-10 days for USPS delivery: Barclays, P.O. Box 13337, Philadelphia, PA 19101-3337 or Barclays, P.O. Box 60517, City of Industry, CA 91716-0517.
Can I make a payment by phone?
Starting June 20, visit bananarepublic.barclaysus.com to sign up for online account access to make payments online or call the number on the back of your new card from Barclays to make a payment by phone.
What will happen to the automatic payments I have already scheduled with Synchrony?
If you are currently enrolled in Autopay with Synchrony, any payments after June 16 will not be processed.
Can I continue to pay my credit card bill online using my bank’s online bill pay service?
Yes. Starting June 20, all payments will need to be made to your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card from Barclays.
Will my payment due date change?
Your payment due date may change. Please check the payment due date on the first billing statement that you receive from Barclays. If you wish, you can request a new payment due date by visiting bananarepublic.barclaysus.com or calling the number on the back of your new card.
Can I change my payment due date on the new Barclays account?
Yes. You can request a new payment due date by visiting bananarepublic.barclaysus.com or by calling the number on the back of your new card. Changing your payment due date will not affect any payments currently due. Please continue to monitor your statements to confirm when payments are due to avoid late fees. If your account goes past due or is closed, your request will be canceled.
Will I receive my new statement from Barclays at the same time each month as I did with my Synchrony account?
Your statement date may change, which may also impact your payment due date. Be sure to note your new payment due date on the first billing statement you receive from Barclays. You can request a new payment due date by visiting bananarepublic.barclaysus.com or by calling the number on the back of your new card. If you currently receive paperless statements from Synchrony, you can sign up for paperless statements from Barclays when you activate your new card or visit bananarepublic.barclaysus.com after June 20. Otherwise, paper statements will be mailed to you.
Will my credit card number change?
Yes. You and each user on your account will receive a new card from Barclays with a unique credit card number. You will need to provide your updated card information to any merchants with whom you have recurring payments and to any bill payment services you may use. You should also update any online merchant accounts or digital wallets that store your credit card information for expedited checkout.
How do I activate my card(s)?
Activate your new card(s) today! Activation of the primary Cardmember’s card will activate all of the cards on the account, including any authorized users.
I currently have alerts on my Synchrony account, will they continue on my new Barclays account?
No. After you have received your new card, you'll be able to set up an online account where you can enroll to receive email and text alerts for important actions on your account. Enroll in Account Alerts and set your preferences by selecting Alerts from the Services menu on bananarepublic.barclaysus.com.
I have authorized users on my account currently, how will I be able to track their activity?
Each of your authorized users will receive a new card with a unique card number. You will be able to easily distinguish between purchases you made and those your authorized users have made on your statements. Rewards points earned for purchases made by anyone authorized to use your account, will appear on the primary Cardmembers’ Banana Republic Rewards account.
Will I be able to add additional authorized users to my account?
Yes. Please note that the primary Cardmember will be responsible for the account and all purchases and transactions made by the authorized user. Authorized users will have the same charging privileges as the primary Cardmember but will not be financially responsible. Account information will be provided to the credit reporting agencies for all account users. This information could impact an authorized user's credit score. All rewards points are awarded to the primary Cardmember, as the financially responsible account owner.
Will I be charged an annual fee once my account is transferred to Barclays?
No, there is still no annual fee for your Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card.
Does the move from Synchrony to Barclays impact my credit score?
No, the move will not impact your credit score. You will see that Synchrony Financial has been replaced with Barclays Bank Delaware on your credit report.
Will I still be able to use my new card at all Gap Inc. brands?
Yes, you can use your new Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card at all Gap Inc. brands and continue to earn 5 points for $1 spent at Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, and our Factory stores.
I have credit cards for multiple brands, will I be receiving a new card for each brand?
Yes, you will receive a new card for every pre-existing credit card you have. We recommend selecting one Gap Inc. Credit Card to use across our family of brands. If you have an Icon level credit card, we recommend keeping this card. If you continue to choose to use multiple credit cards, you may have multiple points banks which may not earn rewards as quickly.
Will my Rewards Program change?*
No. As a Cardmember you'll continue to earn 5 points for every $1 spent for purchases at Athleta, Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. Plus, if you are a Mastercard Cardmember, you'll earn 1 point for every $1 spent everywhere else Mastercard is accepted. If you are a World Mastercard Cardmember, you will earn 2 points for every $1 spent everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.
How will I know how many points I have accumulated?
You can see your points balance by logging into your Banana Republic Rewards account.
What happens to my existing points?
There will be no change to your points balance. You will retain the points you have in your points bank, which you can access at My Points & Rewards on your Banana Republic Rewards account.
Are my benefits changing with the change from Visa to Mastercard?
If you are currently a Visa Cardmember, you will receive a new Mastercard, which you can still use outside our family of brands at the millions of merchants who accept Mastercard worldwide. While your Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card program benefits are not changing, the benefits Mastercard provides versus Visa may vary. What if I'm currently enrolled in e-statements on my Banana Republic Rewards credit card with Synchrony Bank?
Starting June 13th, you will have limited access to service your Synchrony account online. Due to this limited access to your online credit card account, you may receive a paper statement as well as an electronic statement in the month of June.
